Caterina Howard is a qualified garden designer based in Surrey. She offers bespoke, sensory driven, site-specific designs which engage and elevate the user’s experience of their outdoor space. She achieves this through the use of contemporary design detailing, appropriate material choices and client collaboration.

Born in the UK and raised in her mother’s native Colombia, Cat has always found inspiration in her imagination and surroundings. Nature, landscape, art, popular culture, history, architecture and fashion inspire her to design rich, intuitive, multifaceted gardens and outdoor spaces.

Cat trained at Inchbald School of Design for a Postgraduate Diploma in Garden Design. She was awarded the School Garden Design prize chosen by Marcus Barnett, and the Garden Design prize chosen by Juliet Roberts, editor of Gardens Illustrated.

Cat Howard’s other career is as a freelance art director. She has worked for Glamour, Vogue, GQ Style and GQ Magazine, where she was the Promotions Art Director for six years. Her first degree was an Art Foundation from Central St Martins, followed by a BA(hons) in Graphic Design at London College of Printing.

Cat is currently working on various projects in London and the UK, and is a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers.
